Rebuild Faster. Keep Your Land.

HCD-Approved Modular Homes for Altadena, Pacific Palisades, and Malibu.

Abodu Unit

Aftermath of the Pacific Palisades after the fires on January 9, 2025.

Abodu is committed to helping families who lost their homes in the recent Los Angeles wildfires. We provide discounted pricing on modern, fire-resistant modular ADUs that can be installed quickly on your property. Our goal is to get you back on your land with safe, permanent housing as fast as possible.

The Fastest Legal Path Back to Your Property

Abodu's plans carry HCD state approval, which means we bypass the local permitting bottleneck that is delaying most stick-built rebuilds in LA County. Under AB 818, permit decisions on qualifying modular homes must be issued within 10 business days of a complete application. No other construction method offers this timeline.

Once permits clear, site work takes 5 to 10 days. Your home is delivered and installed in a single day. From signed contract to move-in, our fire rebuild timeline runs months ahead of traditional construction, and months ahead of most other modular competitors who do not hold HCD state approval.

We Are Already Working the Rebuild Pipeline

Abodu is actively coordinating with the LA County One Stop Rebuilding Shop supporting Eaton Fire survivors in Altadena, and working with officials serving impacted households in Pacific Palisades. We understand the debris clearance timeline, the county's review process, and the specific permitting requirements for fire-affected parcels in unincorporated LA County and City of Los Angeles jurisdictions.

This is not a new program for us. It is our primary focus right now.

Your Property Stays Yours

You do not need to sell your land to rebuild. Your lot is your most important asset and the foundation of long-term family stability. Abodu's role is to help you build permanent housing on your property, fast, so you are not pressured into a distressed sale. We handle everything from design through installation. AB 851, enacted through January 2027, prohibits unsolicited purchase offers in fire-affected ZIP codes. You have legal protection. Use it.

What We Provide

10-Day Permit Pathway — HCD-approved plans qualify under AB 818 for 10-business-day permit decisions in emergency-declared counties.

Full Permit Management — We handle debris coordination, architectural plans, permit applications, utility coordination, inspections, and final sign-off.

WUI-Certified Fire Resistant Construction — Metal roofing, fiber cement cladding, dual-pane windows, and ember-resistant vents. Built to perform in the next fire, not just survive the last one.

One-Day Installation — Your home arrives factory-complete and is craned into place in a single day. No months of on-site construction noise or disruption.

Frequently Asked Questions

Under AB 818, permit decisions for HCD-approved modular homes must be issued within 10 business days of a complete application in emergency-declared counties. Once permits clear, site preparation takes 5 to 10 days. Your home is delivered and installed in a single day. Most fire rebuild customers go from signed contract to occupancy in significantly less time than traditional stick-built construction, which currently faces 12 to 18 month backlogs in LA County.

Yes — we handle everything. That includes debris removal, site evaluation, architectural plans, permit applications, utility coordination, delivery, installation, inspections, and final sign-off. Whether you are rebuilding a primary residence or adding an ADU, we manage the entire process from start to finish so you do not have to deal with the back-and-forth with your local city or county.

Abodu holds HCD state approval for our modular ADU plans, which is the key credential that unlocks the AB 818 expedited permitting pathway. Most prefab and modular companies do not hold this approval, which means their customers go through the same local permitting queue as stick-built construction. Ours do not.

Our builds are installed on permanent foundations, designed to California residential standards, and built to WUI fire-resistance specifications. This is permanent housing, not temporary shelter.

Yes. Abodu offers customizable modular ADU floor plans, including single mod and dual mode homes. If you choose to customize a floor plan, permitting will take longer because any new design changes require state approval. Abodu still provides the ability to customize layouts, finishes, and upgrade options to match your style, lot size, and budget. Fire resistant upgrade packages are also available for homeowners rebuilding in wildfire zones.

Modular ADUs are a permanent housing solution. Abodu ADUs are built to state approved standards, installed on a permanent foundation, and designed to function as long term housing on your property. They meet all requirements for full time occupancy and remain part of the real estate once installed. Many homeowners use modular ADUs for fire rebuilds, multigenerational living, rental income, or long term.

We work directly with your insurance adjuster to provide accurate estimates, documentation, and replacement cost breakdowns that align with your ALE and dwelling coverage. If your policy includes Additional Living Expenses coverage, that clock started when you were displaced. The faster you have a complete application in front of your building department, the more of that coverage remains available when you move in. We help you move fast.
